NOTICE OF FEBRUARY 2012 PROGRAM CHANGE !!

Manitoba Chapter, Risk and Insurance Management Society Inc. February Luncheon Speaker change. 

Due to schedule conflicts, the presentation on the New Bomber Stadium has been postponed until later in the year.

REVISED PROGRAM: NEW QUEEN’S BENCH EXPEDITED CLAIM RULES

SPEAKER: Anthony C. (Tony) Fletcher -  Fillmore Riley LLP, Barristers, Solicitors and Trade-Mark Agents.

Tony will talk about the new Queen’s Bench Expedited Claim Rules which are set for April 1st. The new expedited limit is $100,000.00 and there are about 10 new rules that lawyers must follow in their file handling. This will affect risk and claims managers in regards to existing and future claims.

Following this presentation, we will recognize the 2011 University of Winnipeg CRM Graduates.

President's Message: Let me start by giving you all a warm welcome back to MaRIMS. Many of us have closed our cabins and trailers, brought our boats out of the water or have begun raking the fallen leaves. I’d say that Summer is officially over and it’s time for us to get back to our routine of school, work and of course attending our monthly lunch meetings at Bergman’s while enjoying an informative session and a delicious meal.

Doug McNeil’s department has been extensively involved in the fight against the Flood of 2011. His staff is also working on the emergency channel to reduce the high water levels on Lake Manitoba.
